Karen, Gordon and Grandma Ida are here for the Labor Day weekend. Weather wise, Saturday may have been the best of the weekend and Gordon and I spent a good portion of it on the river. We were targeting sturgeon and I was hoping that Gordon would tie into a good one, but that wasn’t meant to be; we never caught any. We did, however, catch quite a few walleyes; brought home a limit and released a 20″ and 24″ and several little ones. Gordon has some really good walleye fishing on Lake Sakakawea in North Dakota, but he indicated he was happy catching walleyes here. Nick and Danielle were close by in the afternoon and Nick caught a nice sturgeon; one of three we saw caught. If the weather permits, we’ll try again before they have to go home.
