Deer season is over. Wally and Nolan got a nice button buck on the last Sunday morning. Each of our party got a deer for the freezer. It was a very successful season.
Terry opted to spend part of the second week of deer season pheasant hunting in South Dakota. I was going to go with them, but didn’t feel quite stong enough yet to do a lot of walking. The first two days they hunted was, in Terry’s words, awesome, with lots of birds and great weather. The last two days, the birds were not quite as plentiful.
The river had frozen over in many places, but the unseasonably warm weather these past few days opened it back up. There isn’t any current in the river, so any prolong cold weather will make ice in a hurry. I have the little shanty ready and I’m ready for a little ice fishing.
